May, 2005 - present -- One of 22 educators nationally who was named an M-Powered Educator by M-Audio. M-Powered educators are recognized leaders in the field of technology in music education; a select group of teachers at all levels who are dedicated to the value of teaching music with technology (see, http://tinyurl.com/bgl7z)

Spring, 2005 -- Nominated for the John S. Diekhoff graduate teaching award at Case Western Reserve University.

Summer, 2003 - present -- Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE). I was selected for this program, sponsored by Apple, Inc., during Summer, 2003. A limited number of education professionals from around the world are appointed ADEs based on their credentials in instructional technology. As an ADE there will be ongoing opportunities for collaboration and the exchange of ideas and information with leading educators who have a passionate commitment to the promise of educational technology in the classroom and beyond.

Fall, 2003 -- Selected as a Learning Fellow by the Case Western Reserve University University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education.

2002 -- Two of my research studies are cited as important contributions to the field in Colwell, R. & Richardson, C. (Eds.) (2002). The new handbook of research on music teaching and learning. New York: Oxford. (My work is mentioned on p. 266, 268, 426, & 434.)

October, 2002 -- Recipient of a W.P. Jones Presidential Faculty Development Fund Award, College of Arts and Sciences, Case Western Reserve University.

May, 2001 -- Recipient of Bowling Green State University’s Accomplished Graduate Award.

Spring, 2000. -- Technology Fellow for the College of Fine Arts at Ball State University.

Spring, 1999 -- Recipient of a University Teleplex Grant for projects in instructional technology; Ball State University.

April, 1997 -- Inducted as a Patron to the Alpha Zeta chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon.

March, 1996 -- Radford University MENC Chapter received a Certificate of Recognition for outstanding MENC collegiate membership chapter growth in the 1995-1996 school year from the Music Educators National Conference.
